Woodroot Webradio

Woodroot music.web.radio as a successful part of the Woodroot World is an internetradio for the new natural music of Europe in the great family of worldmusic. Didgeridoo, percussion, many other accompanying instuments, overtonesinging, natural voices, rain-forest-music, middleage-music, folk-music of various European regions. -- Woodroot is »on air« on seven channels in stereo-quality with twenty-four-hour moderation and seven days per week. There is a main channel with various natural music, a didgeridoo-, a percussion-, an overtone-channel, a middleage/ethno-channel and two other channels more.

Of course Woodroots editorial staff wants to gain as much interested listeners as possible. Woodroot music.web.radio is more than only an internetradio. We are a »cultural radio« and would be pleased about You as a listener.

mainstream or just a radio for "exotic niche music"?

Woodroot webradio has now two new channels ... one of them is Sound of Future. What do you think? Shall woodroot webradio a broadcast station for a small minority or shall it a mainstream radio? I th…

This is a meeting point
where we get to throw ideas around?
Here are some from my perspective.
Once govt's and corporations controlled what people could hear and see
by licensing LIGHT!
(Radio & TV were broadcast on the electromagnetic spectrum
of which the frequencies that are visable we call light,
therefore the frequencies known as radio must also be a form of light,
govts sold use of bands of this 'light' to corporations
and regulated every aspect of it).
Typical of humans to think they can own and control the lightwaves!
That was the past.
Today we have the internet and people are empowered,
social sites like this allow freedom of artistic expression
and the ability to not only be appreciated at the touch of a few keys
but potentially be preserved for posterity.
Tomorrow the Govts and corporations will try to bring us all back
under the control of their rules and regulations, fees and taxes...
due to their mismanagement all of the knowlege and technologies
we have gained may be lost
(look how the egyptian, greek and roman technologies for stone buildings,
that the earth was round, geometry, atom theory, music theory etc
were lost for 1000 years)
but for now is it not miraculous that we can Skype
almost anywhere in the world, fly through the air and even into space,
and all the rest.
Such a shame we have neglected to care and be part of the community of life, all of the tribes of life, that share the earth
and so, without a paradigm shift in human consciousness,
we are doomed.
The current economic crisis is an inevitable outcome of the pattern
created by human ideas and beliefs that are dysfunctional.
Time for a paradigm shift in human consciousness
to the paradigm of music- harmony, love and co-operation.
This music and woodroot radio are part of the hope for the future!
Perhaps i am wrong, but thus it seems to me.
Woodroot is in my favourites!
Cheers
:D

Hello friends - thanks for joining this group and listen woodroot webradio. To explain my simple question: woodroot started with one or two channel - one of them was the overtone channel which is really no mainstream. But now woodroot expands their activity with two channels - one of them is Sound of Future - but I read that you think it will not be mainstream ;-)
