It is a great way to write for short spurts (a couple of months) and then spend a long time editing and getting feedback. Every time I write a short story and send it out to my critique group I find my writing strengthens. Its just like anything, you workout more you get stronger, you play the piano more you get better, but with writing you it the introspection and exploration of the craft, which I enjoy so much and find rewarding. I think you'll like my style. People say I remind them of Jeffery Deaver. I have had one collection of short stories published and I am fine tuning my next collection.
